Yesterday, on what would have been her 60th birthday, a statue of co-founder Gill Dalley was unveiled at the Soi Dog shelter in Phuket, Thailand.
The statue was personally funded by Gill's husband and Soi Dog co-founder John, as a testament to his love for the amazing woman he was lucky to share part of his life with.
It serves as a reminder of the courage and passion of a woman determined to overcome her own physical disability to build a safe haven for her beloved street dogs and cats.

Meet Fairytale. As a 10-year-old street dog, her life has been anything but.
She arrived at our shelter severely under-nourished, battling diarrhoea, and bleeding from her nose and mouth. She is also blind.

This was the group of 125 students who came to do Community Service Project over a span of 5 weeks at 25 students each week. “Go Home, Buddy!”

Buddy understands English.
He really does.
Two evenings ago, he came to eat but husband was there and he said to Buddy, “Go home, Buddy, go back to your own house” without any gesture, whatsoever. It was just words. Buddy turned around and walked out of the gate, back towards the direction of his own house.
No kidding. Really.
And this morning, I said to him, “Go home, Buddy.”
Buddy turned around and went home.
