Masalah Pencemaran Sungai

Hutan yang diterokai secara tidak lestari boleh menyumbang kepada masalah pencemaran sungai. Perubahan kepada penggunaan tanah boleh mengakibatkan hakisan tebing sungai. Seterusnya, pemendapan sedimen yang berlebihan akibat hakisan tebing sungai akan menyebabkan air sungai semakin keruh dan sungai menjadi semakin cetek. Sesetengah masyarakat bergantung kepada sungai untuk sumber pendapatan seperti kegiatan perikanan, pertanian dan pengangkutan.
