SmartHeart Kids Adventure Tour 2015 Roadtrip will be held at Prangin Mall, Penang for four days - February 12-15. SPCA will be there running an adoption drive and selling merchandise. Do drop by!

World’s Largest Fashion Retailer Bans Angora Fur 10th Feb 2015, by SPCA Singapore
SPCA Singapore welcomes the ban of Angora Fur, and by the world's largest fashion retailer (Inditex, which owns brands like Zara and Massimo Dutti), no less.
Newly announced on Sunday (8 Feb 2015), this would mean that clothing made from angora will be banned from its more than 6,400 stores around the world. With this, Zara and Massimo Dutti now join labels like Marks & Spencer, Topshop, Primark and H&M to stop selling angora-made garments.

Like many reptiles, the gender of turtle hatchlings depend on the temperature of the sand in which it's eggs are incubated. Generally, higher or hotter temperatures produce female hatchlings and lower or colder temperatures produce male hatchlings. Climate change which brings about a rise in global temperatures mean that more female than male turtles will be produced. This gender imbalance will affect their population as a whole.

Found abandoned, roaming the streets. Looked for owner for two weeks to no success. Rescuer sent her to the SPCA to find her the home she really deserves!
Loving and affectionate but with her life turned upside down. Needs a forever home with other dogs and people willing to give her lots of attention and hugs - look at this cuddlebunny!

Public Service Announcement!
There are SO MANY wonderful people who contribute so much to the SPCA and other animal welfare groups.
And then there are the people who SEAL UP 8 puppies in a cardboard box and pay a taxi drivers to dump them at our gate. No donation, no offer of help - nothing. They had not been fed and were suffocating in the cardboard box. What kind of irresponsible and cruel person would do this?
Thankfully one of our fabulous fosterers stepped in to foster them.

HELP THE MACAQUES HAVE A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE.
Manuka, a young long-tailed macaque, was found badly injured and taking shelter in a backyard. The injuries he had sustained appeared to be due to collision with a vehicle. Despite all our efforts to revive him, he sadly passed away. Not every macaque rescue has a positive ending, but let us recall the successful rescue stories.
