Like Many Puppies Who Arrive At Our Shelter After ..

Like many puppies who arrive at our shelter after struggling for survival on the streets, Pookpuy was only a few months old when she also met with a road traffic accident. She was in agony, lying on the side of the road when our rescue team collected her after we were alerted to her.

After several weeks of rest and rehabilitation, Pookpuy was back on her paws and continued to stay at our shelter for care and safety.

She eventually left our shelter in August 2021 and made a trip to Canada to our partner rescue – Jack Russell Terrier Rescue Ontario (JRTRO) – and soon landed in a foster home with Holly and Peter.

The JRTRO team said it wasn’t long before Pookpuy learned just how wonderful life was going to be in Canada. Her foster family told them that she had a sunny disposition and great attitude, was playful and was a special girl.

They also received regular picture updates of Pookpuy running around the backyard, playing with toys, going on vacation, boating and even “helping out” in the office. She was even going to the spa and being groomed!

If that seemed like a lot of extra love for a foster, suddenly Pookpuy was referred to as Coco in these updates. That was the moment the JRTRO team figured out that this may no longer be a foster dog situation. Very soon they were proved right when Holly and Peter decided to change their status from Pookpuy’s foster family to her forever family.

We hope you love these foster fail stories as much as we do because nothing makes us happier than seeing dogs like Pookpuy, who had a terrible time on the streets, a life destined for nowhere, now living a life of luxury and being loved unconditionally.
