These Are Our Puppers. We Have To Keep Them Locked..

These are our puppers. We have to keep them locked-up – boys in one enclosure and girls in another enclosure – because they are not neutered yet. Their numbers used to be bigger, but many have been neutered. Our problem currently is that each clinic can only take one or two puppers to neuter once in a week or in two weeks and sometimes even in a month. This is because the vets have other clients too. In the past when on location neutering was allowed, we could get the whole lot neutered over a weekend. All we needed to do was to request for vets to bring their things there and do the neutering on location. But the Veterinary Council suddenly said non-vets (including shelters) cannot hire vets and neutering can only be carried in veterinary clinics or hospitals. This is making things very difficult for rescue groups. Hopefully they will see some light soon.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
