WELFARE FOR BIRDS KEPT AS PETS – CASE 3

As our report released last month (https://bit.ly/ACRESBirdReport2022) highlighted concerns with recommendations, we continue to receive feedback from concerned members of public about bird keeping conditions.

Thanks to a member of public who provided information on pet birds being kept in very poor conditions, while some of them were obviously unwell.

The current code of animal welfare for pet birds already states provision of clean and safe environment as a requirement, which is clearly breached in this case. Thanks to @NParksBuzz for following up and we hope that these birds are provided appropriate environment and care soon.
