All this escapades with dog catchers bring to our memory an episode in 2012. The home of one of a rescuer was ambushed because she had 30 over dogs, tgat she was caring for, there. However, the then MPSJ only ambushed after issuing her six compounds over a period of time. They arrived with a huge team including their enforcement officers and the police and cut through the gates to come in and seize the dogs. The council allowed them to take the doggos back provided the were going to a dog shelter and imposed a fine of RM1,000 for every compound (RM6,000 in total) which we raised and paid on their behalf. The dogs were also temporarily boarded somewhere and eventually relocated.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
