Tuesday August 4, 2009PANASONIC recently announced the release of its new energy-saving bulb in Malaysia, the New Spiral Light Capsule, which has a lifespan of 15,000 hours and reduces energy consumption by 80% compared to incandescent bulbs. Electricity consumption for lighting in households takes up about 19% of total household consumption. This means that reducing electricity consumption through the use of an efficient light source is quite effective in helping to reduce global warming. Let there be light: The New Spiral Light Capsule has a lifespan of 15,000 hours. The bulb's ultra long life is the result of Panasonic's new quadruple coil in electrode, which can sustain a bigger volume of emitter. Thanks to this new technology and innovation, the Capsule's lifespan is 15 times longer than that of an incandescent bulb. Besides raising efficiency, its high-density bending technology for spiral arc tubes also makes the bulb more compact. Many brands of energy-saving bulbs have until now been unsuitable for certain applications (lighting fixtures) due to the large dimensions of the lamps. However, Panasonic's high-density bending technology can increase the replacement of incandescent bulbs to energy-saving ones, thanks to its ultra small size, promoting further energy savings. Panasonic's energy-saving lamps have always been well-received in the Japanese lighting market and holds the No.1 market share for this category.
