A POSITIVE STEP FORWARD!

The SPCA has received double the number complaints of abuse and negligence through social media from five years ago. http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/animal-lovers-turn-to-social-media-to-report-abuse

It is great to see such an active citizenry that firmly rejects animal cruelty in our society. Together, we can make a positive difference for the animals.

As our social media is not manned 24/7, if its an emergency, please call our 24 hour hotline 6287 5355 ext 9, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Should you witness an act of deliberate cruelty, resulting in injury, death or abandonment of an animal, please take the following steps:

1.Call the police at 999 immediately and also inform us on our 24-hour hotline 6287 5355 ext 9.

2.Take a picture and/or video of the suspect if it is safe to do so. Note any distinguishing features of the person and clothing/accessories worn or vehicle numbers.

3. If the animal is dead, do not move the body. Note the exact location (street name/bus stop number/lamp post number etc.). Take a picture of the animal and the surrounding area and forward all images and/or videos to inspector@spca.org.sg.

For other cases of cruelty which you would like for us to investigate, please complete the cruelty complaint form that can be found at this link http://spca.org.sg/form_crueltycomplaint.asp
