Did you know?

In Malaysia, the only organisation or body which has the authority to take action against cases of animal abuse is the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), also known as Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar.

In line with the recent enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act 2015, the DVS has announced that they will be providing a new method of lodging a report, which is through their WhatsApp (at 019-2242233). This is to supplement their preexisting method of reporting, which is to send them an email (at pro@dvs.gov.my).

If you do submit a report, please include as many details as possible – e.g. time/date, place, nature of the incident. If possible, attach photos or videos.

Thank you and let’s speak up against animal abuse together!

Please help to spread the word!

PAWS

PAWS was founded in 1987 by a small group of local and expatriate volunteers. Through their generosity and imagination, PAWS was constructed on a patch of land owned by Sime Plantations on the Subang Airport Road. This distinct group of sheds and a courtyard still stands today and currently homes around 400 cats and dogs.

The staff that work at PAWS include one veterinary surgeon and a number of full-time personnel. The organisation depends entirely on the generosity of the public through donations or proceeds from charitable events organized and run by volunteers.
