Did you know the total number of reported rangers to have lost their lives since 2009 is 871?

However, experts believe the actual number of deaths to be much higher than the reported number.

86% of rangers surveyed think their job is dangerous due to the risks involved when encountering and confronting poachers.

Last year Rachel Katumwa was killed in the line of duty whilst on duty in Virunga National Park.

WWF is calling upon governments to urgently review and improve shortcomings that are endangering the lives of wildlife rangers.

At our #GlobalTigerDay launch on July 29, 2018, the Minister of Water, Land and Natural Resources. YB Dr Xavier Jayakumar said he was seriously considering proposing stricter anti-poaching measures to be deliberated in the Cabinet: bit.ly/2LKWQ3g.
