Yesterday the Elephant Team of Sabah Terrestrial Conservation Programme was at Sabah Softwoods Berhad, Tawau, for the plantation’s monthly Tamu (night market). As one of their efforts to reduce Human-Elephant Conflicts in south Sabah, the team set up an exhibition booth to raise awareness among plantation workers on the Dos and Don’ts when they encounter elephants. Also joining the team was Sheryn Speldewinde, a student from Universiti Sains Malaysia for a study visit as part of her collaboration with WWF-Malaysia.
