Still Sitting Like A Lion

This was yesterday evening’s photo. Still very dignified.

Last night, he was sleeping soundly in the cage when I went upstairs. It’s good that he can sleep restfully.

I got up this morning, came downstairs and Vincent staggered out from his cage to greet me. I am amazed at his resilience and his spirit. The muscle wastage is very severe and fast. Yet his spirit is nothing short of remarkable. It reminds me of what our late chief reverend used to say a lot, “When the body is sick, do not let the mind be sick.” I can only hope this is true for Vincent and all animals.

Renate was a short-lived joy, as expected. By yesterday evening, he began to reject it already. But at least I tried.

I ordered a small bottle of Cubgrub Duck yesterday. It used to be one of Vincent’s favourite for some time, but he didn’t want any of it. It’s okay, Vincent. No pressure. I warmed up the steamed fish this morning but he didn’t want that too.

So we just did subcut. I brought the whole kit down and did it on top of his cage.

I am doing everything I humanly can to support his amazing spirit and will.

As my cousin said to me this morning, “Everything in its own time.” Sometimes, words, spoken at the right time, can mean so much and do so much to help.
