Zurik’s Meals

I think the Vit B Complex works. Zurik seems to be a bit more interested in eating today.

No stand-off with Ginger today, but apparently there was one with Heidi.

But here they are, eating in the kitchen.

Zurik ate AD today, on his own too.

The vet said if I wasn’t sure whether his breathing is heavy or not (and require a trip to the vet’s), I could take a video to show her. I did. She says this is “mild” and does not require a trip. I’d have to learn what is “okay” and what is not.

Eating his favourite Monge kibble. He can have any food he wants.

I’ve been reading many websites on FIP, trying my best to learn more about the disease. All of them say the same thing: After diagnosis, the prognosis is very poor and the cat would have only a few more weeks to live.

My biggest worry is whether the disease is contagious and the vet has assured me that at this stage, it no longer is. However, some websites suggest to exercise caution. From what I have read, the corona virus can be transmitted through faeces and saliva during the acute infection stage but not after it has mutated. The corona virus can also stay dormant in the body for a long period before it mutates into the FIP virus. What causes it to mutate, nobody knows.

There is a lot of space in the house and so far, everyone is at a safe distance from Mr Zurik.

Mr Zurik wanted to go out this evening, after dinner, and I thought I’d let him out under strict supervision. Maybe he wants to be on the grass.

I took him out, but it was far too risky. He tried to trick me. He could read my mind. He made a sudden move, and then tried to dash off in the opposite direction instead. My, my….that was VERY crafty of him, but I managed to catch him in time. Phew….

So, no. I don’t think I can let him out anymore. He’s too clever.
