Did you know, the skeletons of sharks and rays are made up of cartilage, not bones? Cartilage is lighter and more flexible, meaning they’re perfectly adapted for speed and agility in the ocean. The biggest threat to sharks and rays is overfishing. Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) play a key role in protecting these species.
