It's Internationalorangutanday This Planted Binuan..

It’s #InternationalOrangutanDay! This planted Binuang tree (Octomeles sumatrana) breathes new life to the once degraded Bukit Piton Forest Reserve of mere shrubs and undergrowth (as pictured in the second photo). With more trees planted, the success of #reforestation efforts mean that #orangutans can fully utilise the replanted assortment of trees for food, shelter, and swinging from tree to tree! Can you spot an orangutan’s nest in the last photo?

WWF-Malaysia’s Reforestation Unit has been working on the 10-year project to restore some 2,300 hectares of degraded forest in Bukit Piton, Sabah.
