My name is Ladin, and I’m appropriately named. At age 1, I’m still basically a lad. I’m barely out of kittenhood, but I’ve been through more in my first year of life than most cats go through in all nine of theirs.
Can you please make a gift to Soi Dog Foundation? They helped me when I thought no one cared. https://bit.ly/RescueHomelessCats
I’ve been homeless, you see, and didn’t get much of a chance to just be a kitten. I had a mum, but she’s gone now. And recently, I got into some serious trouble – I was hit by car.
Their name might be Soi Dog, but the humans here actually help cats like me all the time – whether we’ve been in an accident, attacked by another animal, abused by a cruel human, or have just gotten ourselves hurt somehow.
Trouble always seems to find homeless animals like I used to be. One day I was just out catting around, crossing the street, and suddenly I heard a loud screech, then a thump. A car had hit me – hard! I passed out cold. When I came to, I was in so much pain, and could hardly see out of my right eye.
No one ever notices a homeless animal unless it’s in their way. That’s what I thought, anyway. But miraculously, I had just realized what happened to me when a very kind lady, who’d been staring down at me with tears in her eyes, scooped me up off the road and carried me to a place to get me looked after. I think she thought I was dead…I guess she didn’t know we cats have nine lives.
Well, at the first place we went, I got a little help, but not enough, because my injuries were too serious. So we went on, and soon we arrived at the Soi Dog hospital. The humans there were very quick to come look at my poor old eye. They were very gentle while cleaning and treating it. They put something creamy in it – I don’t know what – but it started to feel better.
Now I’m recovering here at the Soi Dog shelter. I’m so lucky that wonderful lady found me and brought me here. I probably wouldn’t have made it, otherwise. I’m being looked after really well. The vets did surgery to reconstruct the area around my injured eye, and are monitoring a blood clot in my heart, which fortunately is getting smaller.
I’m also being treated for conjunctivitis, a breathing problem, an abscess on my backside, and slight dehydration and depression. I’m getting medicines to help me feel better and to heal. I’m eating good food, and have a comfy, safe place to sleep. You know, we kitties tend to sleep a lot…especially after we’ve gone through something as stressful as I just have!
I used up one of my nine lives when I got hit by that car – but I feel like I got it back at Soi Dog. It’s only thanks to the compassionate people who support them, who truly love animals and can’t stand to see us suffer, that I could be saved. I was lucky. Many homeless animals who get hurt like I did just pass away because no one cares about them or even notices their suffering.
But with your support, more of them can be brought to Soi Dog. More can survive. And with loads of love and care, they can eventually thrive, like all animals should.
Will you please join the group of wonderful humans who give to Soi Dog Foundation and donate now? Sadly, I am only one of many animals like me in Thailand, and Soi Dog needs to be ready to help them, too, when they get hurt, sick or abused. Thank you. https://bit.ly/RescueHomelessCats
