Photos From Soi Dog Foundation's Post

My name is Jaysen. I’m just a baby boy, only 10 weeks old. But instead of getting all the cuddles and love that little puppies who have their own humans usually get, I got a horrendous injury. I was also homeless and hungry, suffering all by myself.

That is, until someone contacted Soi Dog Foundation. Will you please give to them now? They rescued me from my desperate situation. https://bit.ly/SaveLittleJaysen

Every pup needs his mother, especially ones as little as I am. But my mum was long gone. I don’t know what happened to her, but I miss and needed her, especially after I got hurt.

I was lucky. Someone who really cares about animals saw me at the military camp I was living behind and contacted Soi Dog. I’m so tiny, I don’t know how the person who helped even noticed me.

But he did – and thank goodness for that, because my wound was getting bigger and bigger. Maggots had gotten into it and were eating away at it, and the skin around it was starting to rot away. It’s a horrible thing to happen to any animal. But on a tiny boy like me, the gaping wound took up a big part of my little body.

Soi Dog came and collected me and took me to their hospital. Being such a cute little guy, I got looked at straight away! OK, I have to admit they do that with all their patients.

The Soi Dog vets carefully and gently cleaned my wound, which was severely infected and filled with pus. It was about 3 cm around. Imagine that on a puppy my size! I had some smaller wounds, which the vets also took care of. They gave me antibiotics to help them all heal.

I also got a nice bath in a special shampoo to fight a fungus on my body, and was treated for anaemia, which I developed because I was infested with fleas and ticks, and wasn’t able to get nutritious food to eat. I was getting a lot less food after my mum was gone.

I still don’t feel very hungry, really, even though there’s good food for me here when I get my appetite back. I’m a little depressed, too, the vets say. I’ve had such a hard life in my 10 short weeks on Earth, it’s understandable.

But thanks to people like you, who really, really love animals, and believe we all deserve to thrive – not simply fight to survive – I’m recovering well at Soi Dog and have a bright future ahead.

I wish I could say the same about Thailand’s other homeless dogs and cats. Sadly, there are countless ones out there, in constant danger of getting hurt or sick, or abused by cruel humans.

Will you help Soi Dog be ready to help those pups and kitties? It’s only a matter of time – maybe only minutes – before their vets will need to treat their next unlucky emergency patient. https://bit.ly/SaveLittleJaysen

Thank you for caring so much about animals like me.
