Nicky is a sweet, friendly old male dog who arrived at Soi Dog hospital last month with severe maggot wounds and other problems. Just look how much better he looks today!

Will you please give now? Your support will help ensure we can treat Thailand’s homeless animals when medical emergencies inevitably befall them. We were only able to help poor old Nicky thanks to our wonderful, animal-adoring supporters. https://bit.ly/SaveNicky

Sometime in his 13 years of life, both Nicky’s ears had been injured, most likely in fights with other dogs. Unfortunately, in Phuket’s hot, tropical climate, it’s common for maggots to quickly infest wounds in homeless animals, eating away at them and making them much worse and more painful.

No animal deserves to go through what Nicky did – but tragically, countless ones do on the streets of Thailand.

A kind woman who’d been feeding Nicky was heartbroken by his terrible condition and contacted us. We collected him and brought him to our hospital. Our vets gently and thoroughly cleaned his severely infected ears, which were crawling with maggots and reeked of pus. He was also treated for mild dehydration.

Nicky has had thorough medical treatment at our hospital and has been resting safely and comfortably in our shelter. He’s been eating his fill of nutritious food, and just enjoying being loved and cared about. Before his rescue, there’s no telling how long this poor old boy had been suffering.

Sadly, maggot wounds, anaemia, infection and dehydration like Nicky suffered through are common in Thailand’s homeless dogs. It is only because of compassionate animal lovers like you that animals like him have a place to be taken for urgent medical care when they need it.

If not for our caring supporters, this old boy would likely still be homeless and suffering – or worse. Will you please give what you can now so we can continue to help dogs like him (cats, too)? https://bit.ly/SaveNicky

Animals like these have absolutely no one else to care about them. Thank you.
