My name is Boonlongmar, and I thought you might like a pupdate on me! I’m barely a year old, but I’ve been through a lot, especially lately. I literally have the scars to prove it.

I know my name is a mouthful to say, but it’s pretty simple to tell you I’m SO much better now. Soi Dog Foundation’s awesome supporters made sure I got some urgently needed medical care recently. Will you please help Soi Dog now? https://bit.ly/HelpHomelessPups

When a nice lady found me wandering hurt and helpless near a highway, and turned to them on my behalf, they were there for me.

My name might sound funny to you, but what happened to me was anything but amusing. It was scary, actually. I’d been homeless, you see. No loving owner to feed, love or even care what happened to me.

My mum is long gone now. I don’t know what happened …maybe she was hit by a car. And the other dogs around where I was staying didn’t like me very much. I’m a rather shy girl, so I was afraid of them. Plus, we had to compete for food and shelter.

If it weren’t for the caring lady who worried about me, I’d probably never have gotten a second glance. She was very kind, even though I was not in the best mood, being in pain and scared. I was a bit aggressive, actually.

But she persisted, and got close enough to notice the big, horrible, maggot-filled wound between my shoulders. She knew she couldn’t help me by herself, so she contacted Soi Dog, who help hundreds and hundreds of homeless animals a year in Thailand.

Will you please help them be ready to help the next homeless, hurting dog (or cat) who comes their way? https://bit.ly/HelpHomelessPups

Soi Dog’s animal rescue officer came straight away and took me to their hospital. I was scared, so I wasn’t particularly nice. But the vets weren’t frightened and didn’t give up on me. They calmed me down and took care of my huge, awful wound. It was bleeding a lot where it hadn’t started to necrotise (basically, to rot).

I was covered with fleas, but they’re all gone now, thank goodness. I also had mange, pyoderma and skin lesions. My poor skin was a mess! You can see how very much better it is since I began receiving the proper medications and supplements, and getting bathed in a special shampoo.

I’m also getting treated for the depression I’d understandably developed. Once I’m completely better, I’ll be spayed. Everyone here is working so hard to make me all better!

Sadly, for every homeless dog who gets rescued, there are countless ones still out there (cats, too), facing dangers like illness, getting hit by a car or bitten by another animal, or being abused by the humans who are supposed to love us.

The list goes on, and so does the need. Will you please help Soi Dog be ready to help the next desperate animal who comes through their hospital doors? https://bit.ly/HelpHomelessPups

Thank you for caring about helpless, hurting animals, and for making my transformation possible.
