ONE DAY, TWO #CRITICALLYENDANGERED SPECIES

Just a day ago, our 24-hour wildlife rescue team rescued these two animals on the same day and their stories tell the shocking truths behind the scenes.

The #SundaPangolin was found hiding in a shoe rack at third storey of a building. No Thanks to habitat fragmentation, many of our wild animals in #Singapore are forced to explore or use urban areas to reach another pocket of habitat. The caller was concerned that the poor pangolin was stressed with some injuries but was rescued on time for check-up and relocation.

The #Slowloris was found by a kind member of public in the middle of a road beside nature reserve. His canines have been filed down by someone, which clearly indicates that he has been kept as an illegal #exoticpet in Singapore. Like many other primates, these animals are poached from the wild, and canines often ripped off just to be exploited for the #illegalpettrade and #entertainment.

While the Sunda pangolin will be relocated to a safe habitat in Singapore following checks at the Singapore Zoo, the future of the loris remains a question mark pending assessments.

If you know of someone keeping or selling prohibited wildlife, please blow the whistle at acrescrime@gmail.com or alert the enforcement agency @nparksbuzz NParks.
