Photos From Soi Dog Foundation's Post

Meet Luckynine, who was anything but lucky until a kind lady noticed she’d been cruelly abused, and brought her to Soi Dog.

Her smiling photos show she’s a friendly girl. But obviously, someone in the labor camp where this dog was found decidedly did not take a shine to her, and hit her very hard in the eye.

This season is about caring and sharing, not cruelty. Will you please help Soi Dog care for Luckynine and other abused animals? https://www.soidog.org/content/give-the-gift-of-life

Perhaps the abuser was annoyed when the forlorn little stray begged for food. Luckynine was hit in the eye hard enough to do considerable damage.

Sadly, our vets say they’ve noticed an uptick in cruelty cases in the past few years. Many have been simple neglect, but some are indisputably intentional.

Witnesses in the camp say a woman threatened to hurt Luckynine again if she were to come back. Fortunately, this dog is safe at our shelter now and getting care for her eye – which, fortunately, she will not lose. She’s also getting flea treatment, a spay surgery and anything else she might need.

We say it every time we tell you about a new case, simply because it’s true: This poor abused dog and thousands like her have been rescued and their lives transformed because of our caring, generous supporters. We could not treat desperate animals as they deserve to be without you.

The need for our services is so great, we’re always operating at or near capacity – around 1,100 animals currently call our shelter home.

In this season of love and caring, will you please help us keep going? It is very expensive to treat, feed and shelter this many animals. And more come in every day.

The Phuket community have come to reply on Soi Dog for help with homeless, hurting animals they care about, but cannot afford to provide with medical care. https://www.soidog.org/content/give-the-gift-of-life

Thank you so much for caring – this festive season, and all year long!
