Why Vaccinating Your Dog Or Cat Is Important For You And Your Pet Both

Neutering and vaccinating stray dogs and cats is not just beneficial to the animals but the community they live in too.

Every dog or cat who is neutered by Soi Dog Foundation receives a Rabies vaccine as well as their core vaccines to prevent them from dying of lethal diseases such as canine distemper and feline panleukopenia.

According to the World Health Organisation, upto 60,000 people fall victim to rabies EACH year and upto 99% of Rabies cases are from the bite of an infected dog.

However, Rabies is an easily preventable disease and the most effective way of preventing human rabies death is by vaccinating the dogs.

Therefore, the importance of vaccinating community animals especially against Rabies cannot be over-emphasised.

Here in Phuket, over the last 25 years, there was only one confirmed case of rabies case related to a dog.

This is why CNVR (Catch Neuter Vaccinate Return) is so important in Thailand.

1. By neutering, the density and over all numbers will decline, creating a healthier and stable population.

2. By vaccinating, they are protected against diseases that can also be passed to people.

3. People will grow to appreciate the animals in their community knowing they are healthy and safe which will drastically improve the relationship between man and canine.

Which means a better outcome for both animals and people.

Will you join us in making life better for the animals we care about by protecting not just the animals but the people who will eventually care for them as well?

We are hoping to reach a total of half a million animals who are neutered and vaccinated by the end of 2020? We cannot do this without YOU!
