Without You, Homeless Puppies Like Umia Must Fend ..

So much can happen in just a few months. Without people like you, our little fighter Umia’s story would have had a very different ending. Please read, share and join us in making more of these amazing stories happen.

When she arrived at our shelter in December last year, Umia was just two months old and weighed no more than a bag of sugar. Her fur was matted with fleas, and a deep wound on her back right leg was crawling with maggots.

The streets of Thailand are no place for innocent puppies like Umia. They deserve so much more. Will you please pledge to save puppies like Umia who have no chance of survival without you? Please save lives today:https://links.soidog.org/rescue-animals-like-Umia

Too weak to stand, Umia sat quietly as the vets examined her. We can hardly imagine how terrified and confused she must have been. But she showed bravery beyond her young age as the vets placed an IV catheter in her leg and worked to remove the maggots.

Then the vets discovered that little Umia had caught canine parvovirus. This is a nasty and deadly illness that spreads like wildfire among stray dog populations. Most puppies won’t survive. All the odds were stacked against Umia. We didn’t know if her tiny body had the strength to survive. But with time, rest, bottle feeding and lots of love and care, she courageously battled the virus and began to blossom. In time, her leg healed, her confidence grew and she learnt to run and play like all puppies should.

Better still, her story has the happiest of endings. Umia found her forever home right here in Thailand. Just months after suffering so terribly on the streets, she now knows the warmth of a home and the love of a family.

Umia’s story – from her rescue, to her treatment, right up to her adoption – wouldn’t have been possible without wonderful supporters like you. It truly means the world to the animals in our care.
