Spca Clinic Do-Hwans Story. Do-Hwan Was Brought To..

SPCA CLINIC: DO-HWAN’S STORY

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Do-Hwan was brought to SPCA’s clinic after he was found bleeding. Our vets suspected he was hit by a vehicle, leaving him with a prolapsed left eye and fractured jaw.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

He was unable to eat on his own and had trouble swallowing when syringe-fed. Hence, a feeding tube was inserted to ensure he received the nutrients required. Our vets also performed enucleation of his left eye.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

X-rays showed he was suffering from a jaw fracture that restricted his jaw motion. We sought the advice of a specialist vet who recommended rehabilitative jaw exercises first, instead of surgery.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Worried that Do-Hwan wouldn’t do well alone in the clinic ward, our clinic manager, Khash, brought him home for foster care. After 1.5 months of care and daily jaw exercises facilitated by his personal assistant, Khash, Do-Hwan’s feeding tube could be removed. Now he’s very vocal in asking for food!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Khash says he’s affectionate towards other cats but is wary of humans for now. It won’t be long before he makes a full recovery and returns to his beloved regular community caregiver.
