Happy Tales: Chloe

Jason: “When my kids and I entered the shelter area, every dog was barking and Chloe was the only one who was sitting upright, looking right at us! Our initial plan was to adopt puppies but the adoption counsellor said Chloe was more suited for us as puppies needed more attention. Fate had it that the previous person who expressed interest in adopting her never showed up, so we adopted her right after.

She was a little fearful upon reaching home, as she hid in a corner and didn’t eat much of her dinner, but we knew we had to give her time and support in adjusting to the new environment. Now, belly rubs are her absolute favourite and she’s constantly asking for them every day! My eldest son is her favourite hooman in the house and always waits for him to come back from school. She loves showers, but is interestingly scared of umbrellas. Because of this, we had to buy her a raincoat so she can still go to the toilet outside when it rains.

My wife, kids and I have different schedules but we face no issues with our new ‘child’ so far! She doesn’t bark unnecessarily and is always having a good time with the other doggos in the neighbourhood, so even my neighbours love her. We find ourselves extremely lucky, and thank God for having gotten such an obedient, calm and loving furkid in our family.”
