Currently pursuing my PhD in wildlife conservation practices of the native Orang Asli. I have been based in the field (Bukit Kinta Rainforest) over the past few years where I have worked alongside the locals to spread awareness on wildlife and protect local birds and mammals from poachers.
Since returning to Kuala Lumpur, I've also started rescuing birds that needed it, my website "The Official Nerd Bird" started as a bird-care blog, but later turned into a small rescue where people could contact me for help if they found any injured or orphaned birds. The birds are taken to Dr. Jalila of Hospital Veterinar UPM for treatment and cared for until they are suitable for release. In rare instances where injuries cause permanent disability, the birds are adopted out for free to loving homes.
I have had non-human animals as part of my family for more than 15 years now. Our family is presently made up of a dog (aged 14), 2 leopard geckos (aged 6 and 7 years respectively) and our pride and joy Yoshi and Elmo, a pair of green cheek conures that joined our family just over 2 years ago.

Is Yoshi still for sale?
