Nasi Lemak is a gentle soul who used to live in front of a nasi lemak stall. He would take new strays, especially kittens, under his wings to show them where to find food/water and help them cross the road. Even now, he's easy to purr and loves to bunt and wrap himself around you!
He showed up with bad congestion, which prompted a kind rescuer to get him medical treatment. He had a bad case of pneumonia and bronchitis but managed to recover after a period of hygienic indoor living, good food, meds and regular nebulizing (which is very easy to do from home - don't worry, we will teach you). Nasi Lemak will always be more prone to flu, due to his FIV+ status as well, but with a regular routine and observation, his quality of life is not affected at all.
Nasi Lemak has been defleaed, dewormed, neutered, and will be vaccinated before adoption. He is negative for FeLV, but positive for FIV, which means his immune system is suppressed. FIV only transmits through mating or fighting (bodily fluid exchange) so as long as all the cats are integrated and sterilized, there is no concern about transmission. But due to chronic flu, he may be better off being the only cat in the home.
If you're interested in Nasi Lemak, please WHATSAPP us on the number provided. We are very responsive on WhatsApp, SMS, e-mail, Facebook and Instagram but we won't be seeing comments left here.
We do have a short application process. We insist that all cats adopted from us be indoor cats and spayed/neutered when old enough. If you would like to learn more about our work, please check us out on Instagram: @ allergic rescuers kl or on Facebook: Allergic Rescuers KL. Thank you for considering adoption!
