At 6 months, Sofia came to my door looking for food and caring. She was very gentle , loving and approachable. She kept coming everyday and more times each day since she was below normal weight - 2 kg- and could eat very little. As days went by, she appeared to look more and more pregnant. She kept wanting to come inside the home but I was not ready since I had other rescued kittens. Luckily, a good neighbour sensed Sofia was about to give birth and put out a box for her in his carport . She jumped in and had 4 kittens by the next morning, on Oct 3rd, 2018. However, I was told on the 3rd week that she had left with her babies. Some family members of neighbour did not want kittens lingering around. I saw Sofia threatened around the first week , by water splashing from a hose near her box etc and she must have left in a hurry within a week of her birth. However she kept on coming to my door for food several times each day. This time I let her in indoors in order to spend more time with her. She did not want to leave many times. Her mammary glands were becoming much reduced in size. Her intestines were bloated in size with a firm object in it. Then she did not show up for 2 days. When she did show up, I decided to adopt her and took her to the vet the very same day. She has been indoors since and loves it. Sofia has gained a very healthy weight. She relaxes anywhere quietly but also likes to entertain herself with pushing and chasing a ball or tries to chase after the rope with me. She sleeps quietly at night in her own space. She loves being stroked and follows me everywhere. She is cute with her spontaneity - plays "who touches whose hand first" or surprising me with a " leap greet" once only every morning! She is very happy, secure and content indoors 24/7 - no more fears of thunder and lightning or firecrackers falling on her head! She is very well behaved - understands what "no" means. She loves looking at lizards and birds and squirrels. She is peace loving and at peace with her home and surroundings. She would be a wonderful INDOOR pet for a cat lover.
