At age 6 months, Sofia came to my door looking for food and caring. She was very gentle and loving. She kept coming everyday and more times each day since she was below normal weight - at 2 kg- and eating very little at a time.
As days went by, she appeared to look more and more pregnant. She kept wanting to come inside the home but I was not ready since I had other rescued kittens. Luckily, a good neighbour sensed Sofia was about to give birth and put out a box for her in his carport . She jumped in and had 4 kittens by the next morning, on Oct 3rd, 2018. However, I was told on the 3rd week that she had left with her babies. Some family members of neighbour did not want kittens lingering around. I saw Sofia threatened around the first week , by water splashing from a hose near her box etc and she must have left in a hurry within a week of giving birth. However she kept on coming to my door for food several times each day.
This time I let her in indoors in order to spend more time with her. She did not want to leave many times. Her mammary glands were becoming much reduced in size. One day, her intestines were bloated in size with a firm object in it. Then she did not show up for 2 days. When she DID show up, I decided to adopt her and took her to the vet the very same day. She has been indoors since and loves it.
Sofia has gained a very healthy weight. She RELAXES QUIETLY but also likes to ENTERTAIN herself - pushing and chasing tiny rolling objects real fast or thrilled when I join in playtime like when she chases after the string with me. She SLEEPS QUIETLY AT NIGHT in her own private spacious room, with water and little midnight kibble snack. Sofia is not a lap cat but butts up against me, wanting to be stroked. She is cute with her spontaneity - surprising me with a sudden " leap greet" from time to time. She is very happy and secure indoors 24/7 - no more fears of thunder and lightning or firecrackers falling on her head! Or BIG LORRYS driving by fast or bully Tom cats.
She IS STRICTLY AN INDOOR CAT. She NEEDS A RESPONSIBLE ADULT to be the caregiver, who will keep all home windows and doors shut , so that she will not get lost. Her fur is silky soft with healthy pink skin and good weight. Well trained in litter box use, Sofia is a No-Fuss cat. She quietly watches lizards and birds and tries to catch flying bugs. Sofia was ALONE in caring for herself OUTDOORS for MANY MONTHS. So she's Territorial, not entertaining other adult cats in her space. She does not hiss or bite humans. Instead she is timid. She is well behaved and understands what " no" means.
Sofia would be Most Thankful for a Loving, Caring Guardian and Home.
