Only Subsidy Scheme For Spay-Neuter

Dear all,

As of today, 5th January 2012, we have no more panel vets for spay-neuter.

All rescuers who need financial help are entitled to apply for our subsidy scheme, and here’s a bit of good news, we’ve increased the male cat subsidy to RM80. The rest remains.

Please see this:http://myanimalcare.org/subsidy/

Reasons for this change:

1. Recent bad experience with a person who tried to use an elderly (unemployed) person’s name to apply for our fully sponsored spay-neuter at our panel vet so that she doesn’t have to pay a single cent. Was told that for a person in her profession, her earnings should be no less than RM8000 per month! How can I recommend such a person to come under our charity rate when it’s not even 10 cats that she is looking after? It would be really taking advantage of the vet’s goodwill and trust on me. So I told her to go to her own vet and pay the normal charges, then claim from us (if she MUST claim). To this, she said she’ll instead apply using her elderly relative’s name so that she would still be entitled to our charity rate and our full sponsorship! What do you say to that, I ask you…

2. Rescuers who are very demanding at our panel vet and even criticise their manner of operation. They are rude, especially to the assistants.

3. Rescuers who do not abide by rules, board their animals overnight, “forget” to collect the animals, and refuse to pay for the extended boarding.

4. Rescuers who lie to me.

5. Rescuers who do not turn up or are late for an appointment and do not bother to inform the clinic or me.

6. Rescuers who cannot even send me an sms after sending and after collecting their animals.

7. Rescuers who ask me to go to take their animals’ photograph because they can’t do it themselves (no time, no camera, no hp with camera, no friend/relative/children with hp with camera, don’t know how to email, forgot, etc.)

8. Rescuers who couldn’t care less about our 2-week deadline for submission for a claim. They post the receipts 1-2 months later and expect to be paid.

9. Rescuers who claim they have no money but who are actually financially well-off. They apply for our our fully sponsored services but even the vets know they can afford to pay. They also do not bother to give back a single cent to our fund to help the next animal, which may very well come from a truly needy rescuer.

10. Rescuers, like that school-teacher, who literally drove me up the wall yesterday (no, I did not write what happened as it was a hair-tearing experience for me) because she REFUSED to understand our policies. She ignores phonecalls, smses and emails that are not in her favour, and she pretends she doesn’t hear what is not in her favour. She just continues asking for what she wants. I have NEVER, in my life, encountered anyone this thick-skinned before. Saying that she is testing my patience is the understatement of the year!

*Deep breath 3x*

*Smile”

To all rescuers who have used our services for the last two-and-a-half years and have followed our policies, acted responsibly, been courteous and polite to our vets, picked up your animals on time, sent me smses and supported our efforts, I bow down low and thank you unreservedly from the bottom of my heart for supporting us and making our experience a happy, productive and meaningful one. You are welcome to now apply for our subsidy scheme and should you have any special requests (since we have worked together for sometime now and we understand each other), please write to me and we will still consider your requests, if within reason and if we can accommodate. I know the RM20 increase in the subsidy for male cats isn’t much to make up for us having no more panel vets, but we have our limitations too.

We are still helping the animals and helping you through our subsidy scheme. Our subsidy scheme is extended to ALL rescuers, new or old, previously blacklisted due to bad behaviour (but has turned over a new leaf now), and even to that school-teacher IF she follows our policies. But all rescuers must satisfy our criteria (the animal is a street animal, not a pet) and provide us the necessary documentation (photo & write-up, original receipt and form).

Our subsidy scheme applies to spay-neuter, medical treatment and vaccinations.

In the past, I do not often report the unhappy experiences and the amount of headaches the irresponsible and uncaring rescuers give me. Why talk about the negative, I’d say. But there is just so much I can take, so we have now decided that this subsidy scheme will be the best option that we can offer to you – for you, for us and for my sanity!

I hope our subsidy scheme can stay for a long time to come…as long as irresponsible rescuers do not devise something new to create new trouble for us!

To all the troublesome rescuers (you know who you are), you are still welcome to apply for our subsidy scheme, but please respect the rules of the clinic that you choose, please be honest and PLEASE FOLLOW OUR POLICIES.

Our subsidy is ONLY for street animals, not pets.

No photo, no money.
No original receipt, no money.
No form, no money.
All claims must reach me no later than 2 weeks from the date on the receipt.

Once we promise to pay, it means we have the funds and we will pay you, but you must please meet our 2 week deadline.

We are all working very hard, to the best of our ability to help the animals. Let’s please practise the virtues of respect, responsibility and honesty in this work that we do so that the animals will benefit from our collective efforts.
