A lot has happened in the past year since our establishment as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Malaysia.

We have successfully carried out two River Terrapin research projects in the Setiu and Kemaman Rivers and have built a very good rapport with the local communities in the process.

We have also carried out five Turtle Discovery Trips and spread some turtle knowledge to interested members of the public.

And most recently, we have produced a really cute 2013 Turtle Calendar which we have sold more than 2,800 sets of.

As such, we have documented our activities and milestones in our inaugural issue of TCS Newsletter 2012, which we will roll out in a few days or so. If you would like to learn more about our research, conservation and outreach activities, please sign up for our newsletter here:

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
