Did you know that only 1 in 10,000 turtle hatchlings survive to adulthood? From the moment they are laid, turtle eggs are vulnerable to predators, both human and animal. Hatchlings racing for the sea will have to avoid attacks by sea birds, clamber over mountainous rubbish, avoid being confused by nearby lighting, as well as avoid being eaten by nearshore fishes and crabs.
