SPCA - SEBERANG PERAI

August’s condition seems to worsen this morning. He looked lethargic with paling gums and decreasing appetite. Vet advised that a blood transfusion needs to be done in order to safe him.

Please help us keep August in your prayers and hope he will pull through.

We shall keep everyone posted with his updates.

August was rescued today by a passerby, Austin at Kampung Kastam. August was spotted wondering aimlessly on the street and later fall right into a drain. Upon seeing this, Austin rushed to his rescued and only then did he noticed the huge open wound on his face filled with maggots.August was sent to the veterinary clinic where he is recuperating now. The vet has helped to clean most of the maggots out but there are still some hidden deep in the wound which the vet will continue to clean them out tomorrow.August is currently very malnourished probably due to his losing eye sight which caused him having the difficulty to find food for himself. He is now put on drips. The vet has estimated his recuperating period to be around 4-5 months. SPCA Seberang Perai

The SPCA Seberang Perai is a society registered in September 2005. Our primary aim is to reduce the population of stray animals or possibly a zero stray population in a humane manner. With lesser strays or no strays at all, the loving value of animals will be greatly increased and you can be sure that humans will shower more love for their pets and be responsible pet owners. The problem should not only be shouldered by our Society as the public must also understand the urgent need to control the pet population and give their whole-hearted support to all our projects for the undertaking to be successful. Then we will achieve a clean and hygienic environment for the community. As a no killing organization, we are embarking on a two-prong approach towards the problem i.e public education and sterilization of the stray animals.
