Many dogs who enter our shelter gates have never felt the kind touch of a human. They don’t know if they can trust us through years of being all alone. Juturna’s story is quite different. He does trust us. But why?

Juturna and his owner were inseparable. Until one day, for reasons we will never understand, his owner moved house and left him on the street, all alone. Neighbours did their best to feed him each day, but Juturna would pace around the streets looking for his best friend. He could not understand why he would leave after they had such an unbreakable bond.

Juturna was not seen for months and the people in his community has assumed the worst. When he returned he was missing half of his leg. We will never know exactly what happened, but when he was found it was wrapped tightly with a plastic bag and rope, which had cut deep into his skin. Such a severe wound could not be treated; the vet’s only option was amputate the leg. Luckily for Juturna, he recovered quickly and has coped well with only three legs.

Juturna has experienced more pain and suffering than any animal should. All he wants is someone to love. Can you offer a loving home to this handsome boy? He will be forever grateful.
