We are up to our necks with kittens being dumped around the property. 25 is the highest number we have, 23 in cages and 2 running around freely as they are too afraid of humans, meaning staffs and volunteers have to take time each day to try to catch those 2 kittens so they dont end up being killed on the road or by our dogs.

So essentially these people who have dumped kittens around the property recently have left them without thinking of the safety of these innocent kittens. Shelters are not your DRIVE BY DUMPING GROUND.

What do they expect a shelter to do with 25 kittens in a short period of time? The dumping doesnt just stop there. It has been constant as long as the shelter has been in operation.

When will people stop being ignorant and selfish? Controlling the population of strays is a communal effort. It is unfair to expect only shelters and independent rescuers to do the job.

The Langkawi Animal Shelter and Sanctuary Foundation is set-up to receive, rehabilitate and care for neglected, abused and needy animals. The organization also runs the Langkawi Island Animal Clinic - a charity project aimed at the sterilization of the stray cat & dog population. Both are non profit ventures, staffed partly by volunteers and aimed at improving the lives of unwanted animals.
