YOU COULD BE HER LUCKY STAR

In February 2019, Lucky, a female black and white local cat, of approximately five years old, was found on the streets by a concerned couple. She was badly injured and was unable to move, so the couple rushed her to a private veterinary clinic. Her injuries were so severe that she had to undergo specialist orthopaedic surgery.

Thankfully, and miraculously, Lucky recovered and was sent to the SPCA in hopes of finding her a fur-ever home.

Before being placed up for adoption, a lump was discovered growing in her mammary glands. The lump which was surgically removed by SPCA’s vet at our Community Animal Clinic, was subsequently tested and was found to be cancerous.

Lucky was given a comprehensive examination and there is no evidence that the cancer has spread. There is, however, a chance of recurrence and the median survival time for a cat with this type of cancer is around two and a half years.

Lucky has been through so much, so we are reaching out to you to help her. You could be Lucky’s shining star. Lucky is ready to move on to the next chapter of her life. She is affectionate and enjoys spending time with our staff and volunteers. Her future guardians will need to be diligent in checking for lumps or masses on her body and regular veterinary checks will be required after adoption.

If you have a soft spot in your heart and can accommodate Lucky in your family, do get in touch with us at 6287 5355 ext 24.

You can make a huge difference in Lucky’s life!
