Gunung Lesong National Park - Workshop

Gunung Lesong National Park, about three hours drive from Kuching, the capital city of Sarawak, is a lesser known protected area in the state. It is home to a diverse flora and fauna, and more importantly, the orangutans.

Some community-based eco-tourism training took place at Kampung Engkaranji, near the national park recently, as a means to engage villagers as co-stewards in natural resource management.

WWF-Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and Gunung Lesong Community Based Ecotourism Committee jointly held the four-day training for about 30 participants.
