YOU GOT A FRIEND IN ME!

It’s rough falling ill, even more so when you must isolate yourself from the rest of your friends or the world! While not all iguanas enjoy the company of another, Green Lantern and February (you may remember her from our previous post), who is leaning on her roommate, found a friend in each other as they recover from malnutrition and calcium deficiency.

Many a times we receive illegally kept exotic animals who come in with numerous health problems induced by various causal factors such as an improper diet, non-optimal environmental conditions, stress and poor husbandry. Whichever way you try to look at it, ultimately the onus falls on their “animal loving” ex-owners who are ill-equipped with the knowledge or expertise to care for their unique needs.

At the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre, we are dedicated to provide the best for these animals who take refuge in our sanctuary, but it does not come free and certainly not cheap. By being a Wildlife Supporter, you can help February, Green Lantern and other iguanas in our care for a year, as little as $1 a day. Your annual sponsorship for the iguanas allows us to plan for their well-being, knowing that funds are there when needed.
