Imagine the fear of being stuck somewhere dark where no one can see or hear you. Imagine the fear of not knowing if you will survive. My name is Simba and I was found stuck deep down a well for three long and lonely days. I was terrified, hungry and hopeless. I cried and cried for help but no one could hear me; and in my desperate attempts to climb out of this cold dark prison, I ripped off all my nails.

After three long days and nights passed, a kind member from my community realised I was missing and came looking for me. He spent several hours of searching, until finally he heard my faint cry for help. Unfortunately, the well was too deep for him to rescue me himself so he called Soi Dog for help. Two members from the Animal Rescue team raced to the scene. They worked tirelessly to save me. They managed to lower a rope down the well and tie it around my body. They slowly raised me out of the darkness to bring me up to safety.

I was immediately taken to the Soi Dog Hospital and started on pain relief, antibiotics and given a hearty first meal. It took some time for me to recover from this traumatic experience. My first few weeks I constantly felt uneasy and nervous. However, as each day that passed I learned to gain some confidence and trust the people who were helping me. I now enjoy going for walks and spending time with people. I am thankful for those who rescued me and hope that I will soon find a loving home to keep me safe. Can you help me?
