Moiselle And Gizzy. We Are Sad To Announce That 2 ..

Moiselle and Gizzy 💔

We are sad to announce that 2 dogs passed in January 2020, our beloved Gizzy and Moiselle.

Moiselle came to the shelter back in 2008. When we first got her, we used to call her Chinese. Later on we renamed her Moiselle because during her younger days, she used to walk daintily like a Mademoiselle. She loved sun tanning, treats and being petted. Moiselle went very peacefully in her sleep. She was not sick, so probably just old age. She will be sorely missed by all 💔

Gizzy was one of the shelter’s biggest characters. He was found in a housing area in Kuah as a stray, and had been hit, possibly by a car. He was not very approachable when he first came in. He would threaten to bite anyone who wanted to deal with him. He was known as the unfriendly and grumpy dog for many years and has bitten quite a few people. In his older years, he mellowed a little. He was still grumpy and sleeping was his favourite hobby… but despite this he was an extremely popular dog at LASSie. With the right person and with Gizzy in the right mood, he could be very loving and affectionate.

Gizzy had a gallbladder issue and he deteriorated slowly but he had lots of love from all in his last days and weeks. Rosie misses him desperately and there will always be a hole in our hearts where Gizzy once was. RIP our little Tasmanian devil 🖤🖤🖤

The Langkawi Animal Shelter and Sanctuary Foundation is set-up to receive, rehabilitate and care for neglected, abused and needy animals. The organization also runs the Langkawi Island Animal Clinic - a charity project aimed at the sterilization of the stray cat & dog population. Both are non profit ventures, staffed partly by volunteers and aimed at improving the lives of unwanted animals.
