Going The Extra Mile For Animals In Need

February is #SpayAndNeuterAwarenessMonth
Our spay and neuter programme, CNVR (Catch Neuter Vaccinate Release) is one of Soi Dog Foundation’s most important projects that is aimed at alleviating the suffering of streets animals here in Thailand.
To this date, with no governement funding, CNVR has sterilised and vaccinated over 399,000 dogs and cats.
We concentrate on different regions of the country where we are needed the most, including Phuket, Bangkok, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Koh Samui and Kanchanaburi to name a few.
Last year, our mobile sterilisation team spayed and neutered 900 animals Ubon Ratchathani (Ubon) Province, which is located in the North Eastern region of Thailand.
Ubon, was hit by one of the worst floodings in the last 17 years, and displaced not only hundreds of thousands of families but also affected thousands of animals who were stranded and helpless.
While local agencies attended to the families, thanks to your compassion and kindness, Soi Dog was able to assist with the disaster relief by helping these animals who were left with nowhere to go.
After helping with immediate disaster relief, we took the opportunity to sterilise the healthy dogs as a way to control the over population in the area.
CNVR is crucial to the well being of stray animals and we wanted to Thank You for continuing to help this vital project.
CNVR will not yield overnight results but, it is the only proven long term, humane solution to the stray animal issue that compromises the welfare of these animals.
Stay tuned for more updates about our CNVR project from around Thailand this month.
