HAPPY TALES x MILA: ADOPTED BY THE RANSOMES

“We adopted Dark (now called Mila) from the SPCA in September 2019. She was placed for adoption with her sister and was a very popular choice with many potential adopters queuing up for her. She is sweet and loving, quite cheeky, and has captivating hazel eyes and a beautiful brown coat!

We realised early on that she needed help with managing her behaviour e.g. to not jump onto the nearest person for cuddles. With training classes, she is improving with force-free techniques. She’s a well loved and spoiled member of the family. She believes she’s our guard Labrador, chief cuddler and the big sister who looks after her little ‘sisters’ well, thinking it’s her job to wake them up in the morning. It can be hard forcing ourselves to adjust our routines for Mila’s needs but we’ve all learnt to be more responsible and to regularly walk, play, feed, and care for her diligently.

Mila loves playing with toys, which she annihilates with lots of vigour. She loves long walks, visiting parks, and swimming at the beach. She even coincidentally met her sister at the dog run and enjoyed playing with her! A perfect ending to a dog fairy tale! We are thankful to all the SPCA staff who looked after her and brought this amazing spark into our lives.”
