This Must End Now. This Is A Typical Street Scene ..

THIS MUST END NOW!

This is a typical street scene in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital and now the world capital of the dog and cat meat industry.

Soi Dog Foundation is working with the authorities in Hanoi to end this inhumane and totally uncontrolled business. The Mayor of Hanoi wants the city to have an image similar to Singapore, a modern city for the 21st Century. How can this happen when throughout the city are hundreds of shops like this one displaying live and dead dogs and cats for sale for meat? Every minute another one is pulled out of a cage and clubbed or electrocuted in front of the others, that are trembling in fear. Often they are still alive when thrown into vats of boiling water or machines that rip the fur off.

The mayor has promised us that the city centre will be dog meat free in 3 years, but that is not enough.

We know from tests that a significant number of these dogs are carrying rabies. The conditions are appalling. Are these people not aware how epidemics like AIDS, SARS, Corona virus started? Now is the time to end it, if not for the animals sake, for the people.

Please support us in ending the dog and cat meat trade in Vietnam.
