……………………………..

Many people in Malaysia still use this ‘’kampung style‘’ to keep their dogs.

Sadly, many owners do not even think that there is any problem with this kind of treatment they provide to their dogs. Eight out of ten owners will argue with us: “The dogs can hide under the vehicle and are sheltered from the sun and rain, and I do provide food and water everyday. What did i do wrong?”

Some dogs are even being tied for many years, the furthest place they can go is only the very small space in front of them, they eat and poo at the same place, thinking that the world is as big as that …

Even because of the long-term loss of freedom, there are many dogs who are tied to old age went crazy, acted aggresively and even bite their owner.

But fortunately, we’re able to communicate with this family, and there are two more healthy dogs inside their house. They said that one of the big dogs being tied outside was the pet of their friend. The Malay neighbors of his friend complained about this dog, the dog has nowhere to go and forced to being tied in front of their house.

And the other puppy was brought back because of pity that she was loitering at street, but because they had no place to put her at home, she was tied up and raised like this.

After the education and coordination, the male owner insists on keeping the puppy, but promise to put her in the house (the puppy is not tied anymore afterwards).

But we are very worried about the whereabouts of the adult dog, will he be nowhere to go, and at last being abandoned to another place that we can’t see…?

It’s a male, looked thin and malnourished, and has the most common look of a mixed breed dog 😢 We decided to neuter this furkid and bring him back to the shelter.

It is already year 2020, and our phone has changed from cellphone to smart phone. Similarly, the way of keeping pet should also keep pace with the times!

DON’T CAGE/TIE/FREE ROAM YOUR PET.

Like humans, animals need freedom too.

They need sufficient space to exercise and release their energy. Just imagine, we’re anxiety and frustrated when we are being trapped at home for only a few months, not allowed to go to meet with our friends, not allowed to go shopping and have fun. So why do you think it’s okay to tie the dog like this for several years?

PLEASE, put yourself into your pets’ shoes.
