Rescue Dog Lost In The Jungle Finally Finds Happin..

Rescue dog lost in the jungle finally finds happiness in Canada! 🇨🇦

Beluga was found wandering around a jungle in southern Phuket earlier this year, desperately scavenging for food alongside his companion Caviar (now reserved for adoption). Luckily, a Soi Dog board member and long-term volunteer spotted them both looking extremely hungry and lost, brought them for check-ups at Soi Dog and even fostered them while they waited to find their forever homes.

Fortunately, Beluga didn’t have to wait long. Our amazing partner rescue Furever Furbaby Rescue in Sudbury, Canada, soon saw him on the Soi Dog website and knew he would easily find a home, especially with those adorably big brown puppy dog eyes of his.

Properly prepped for the cold weather with a cute doggy coat purchased his rescuer, Beluga flew to Canada on Valentine’s Day and was immediately surrounded by love when he landed. Our wonderful team from Soi Dog Canada fostered him overnight before driving him to our partner rescue to start his new life. We recently received a lovely update from Beluga’s new mum, Diane:

“Our beautiful gentle boy Riley, aka Beluga, is loving his forever home. He gets so excited when it’s time for his walks that he does a head bob from side to side and you would almost think he’s talking to you. He acts like a puppy when he plays. He has truly enriched our lives.

Our gratitude goes to everyone who played a role in Riley’s journey to find happiness – so many people contributed in a myriad of ways. From Soi Dog’s medical, adoptions and logistics teams to Lillian, who chose to foster Riley in her home and give him this opportunity, to Soi Dog Canada’s dream team – Sondra, Bev, Neal, Candace, and Lisa – who always go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that each soi dog that arrives in Canada are supported and loved for the rest of their lives. Each one of you is special and Riley’s furrytail ending is due to your actions and choices. Thank you all!”

There’s more than one way to adopt a soi dog, so get in touch with one of our partner rescues today. For more information, email partnerrescue@soidog.org
