GUESS WHAT SUNSHINE AND MOCHA SPOTTED?

POACHING OF WILD BIRDS IN SINGAPORE

A few days ago, while walking our rescued dogs, our Deputy CE spotted poaching activities in Sungei tengah area. After seeing us, the poachers drove off and the active trap with a spotted dove inside was immediately removed.

Two weeks ago, a tip-off alerted us to the illegal trapping of wild birds at 485 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 5. The rescue team visited the area and found an active bird trap hanging from a tree with an attached pulley system connected to a unit at the said block.

Thanks to the informant, our team alerted the National Parks Board (NParks). Unfortunately a wild bird got trapped while our rescue team was waiting. Both cases are currently under investigation.

If you see any illegal wildlife traps set up, please alert NParks at 1800 471 7300. You may also choose to call our hotline 9783 7782 or email the information to acrescrime@gmail.com
