Have You Ever Thought Of Owning A Dog As A Family ..

Have you ever thought of owning a dog as a family pet? Keeping a pet dog has its many responsibilities. A pet dog needs to be fed, sheltered, taken to the vet when it is ill, given dog training if necessary and above all to be nurtured and cared for by its owners. For just like a child, a pet dog often wants attention and the companionship of its owner family.

But there is more than just the work and sacrifice when a family chooses to open its heart and home to a loving dog.

Ask Mr. Yeo Chiau Woon and his wife Ms. Lee Wai Shuen about their experience in taking care of their pet dog, Tonto. Just as the character in the movie, the Lone Ranger, Tonto the dog was a loving and faithful companion to the Yeo couple.

Originally it was their intention to provide a home to a handicapped dog which was then residing at the shelter run by ‘Save A Stray Malaysia’. But after taking their pet home, the couple, who have no children of their own, quickly discovered what a wonderful experience it was to have a loving and caring companion staying with them.

There were many days of fun, sharing, playing and caring for each other. These days will live long in the hearts of Mr and Mrs Yeo.

Sadly, after six and a half years, Tonto passed away in 2017.

However the love that and Mr and Mrs Yeo had for Tonto, lives long in their hearts. As a tribute, the couple have penned a beautiful and touching poem to Tonto, which is reproduced below.

To Mr and Mrs Yeo, while we are deeply sad over Tonto’s passing, we know that you will continue to remember the good times you had with him, and you will always cherish him in
