STREET FEEDING IN NEPAL

“Today is our 127th day of feeding to street dogs,” Ishwari Thapa

Chairman of Voice of Animal Nepal in Kathmandu said. “We are a very small organization and now we have no sufficient funds to continue this project. Nepal is still in lockdown and we don’t know how long it will last.”

“We would like to feed them at least for the next 3 months till the situation gets normal. All the dogs are community street and abandoned and we don’t feed pet dogs and cats. All are homeless.

We cover 12 areas and approximately we have been feeding 135 dogs every day. The weekly cost is $336 (American dollars).”

“Since we are an animal rights organization we don’t feed them meat. We have been giving them rice, pulse (this is a bean), soyabean , Britannia Biscuits and finally milk poured on it. All are mashed up. This is the best veg diet for them.”

HOW TO HELP

While we already have our hands full with so many rescue squads worldwide, we would love to be able to help here, even with just 10 days worth of food to take some of the pressure off the local team while they gather more funds for food. To donate, our paypal is donations@harmonyfund.org or please give here. We’ve already asked for help in so many locations lately, so please forgive us for adding one more. Thank you all.

Animal Rescue Chase

The Great Animal Rescue Chase celebrates the art of animal rescue with a worldwide race to rescue one million. It’s a free event, open to all, and is perhaps the only global animal rescue event aimed at helping any animal in distress, anywhere in the world. Our ambition is to create a culture of enthusiasm and pride in animal activism. We believe in teaching, by example, that there is a hero in each of us just waiting to be unleashed. Empowered animal lovers can not only save lives, but build the momentum for powerful animal welfare reform.
