We Conduct Educational Programmes With Students Ev..

We conduct educational programmes with students every year. We try to conduct as many Turtle Camps as possible, with limited resources and all. We give talks to students in private schools, we collect a token sum from the students, and we bring these funds back to Kemaman so we could conduct Turtle Camps with the local students for free.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We provide each student a goodie bag, not because we have funds to burn. We include a story book about turtles and an Activity Book in each goodie bag, hoping the students would actually read and do the activities in the book. We conduct out Turtle Camps outdoors as much as possible, to give students the space run, be wild, and sweat. We include science and English questions in the treasure hunt clues to make them think. We put them in groups so they learn teamwork.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

However, we had only been to 1 school this year, before the MCO! And in the one school, 80 students were present to learn about turtles and ecobricks. We miss going to schools and we hope that the COVID pandemic becomes more manageable next year, so we could resume our fun and educational sessions!

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
