Spay And Neuter. Does It Really Make A Difference?

Celebrating #WorldSpayDay

With over half-a-million stray animals in Thailand have been spayed/neutered, your donations are supporting Soi Dog’s spay and neuter programme of Catch I Neuter IVaccinate I Return (CNVR), the largest spay/neuter programme anywhere in the world.

We think that is something worth celebrating on this special day, by not just boasting about numbers, but also providing hard evidence that CNVR is making a meaningful difference.

Watch the video to find out more about how CNVR has not only affected the number of dogs on the streets, but also how the quality of life of those dogs who are already there, have significantly improved.

Big thanks to Dr.Elly Hiby, animal welfare consultant and Director of ICAM (International Companion Animal Management Coalition) for assisting with this survey as well as the attitude survey conducted in Greater Bangkok together with Kasetsart University in Bangkok.

The latter, looked at how residents who lived in areas where CNVR was conducted, felt about the dogs in their neighbourhood vs. attitudes of those who lived in a location which lacked a spay and neuter programme.

Because of you, our CNVR programme which started with 3 people has now expanded to eight mobile teams working across Thailand sterilsing over 10,000 animals a month.

With your continued support, we are confident a million animals can be spayed/neutered by 2024.

To help achieve the magic million by 2024, and to spare so many more puppies and kittens being born into a short life of pain and suffering, join the cause today: https://www.soidog.org/content/make-donation
